Gum Grafting

Gingival recession occurs when the edge of the gingival tissue (called the gingival margin) moves away from the crown of the tooth.  There are several reasons for this disease of the gum.  It may be as a result of aggressive tooth brushing or periodontal disease.  This will result in the recession of the gum line and eventually exposing the tooth’s root, which also results in sensitivity.  Dr. Malek of implants90807 notes that when a patient ignores minor recession, bone loss around teeth is likely to result.  Treatment methods vary according to the type and severity of recession and Dr. Malek can advise the treatment that is best suitable for your case.  If it is determined that your gum recession is as a result of aggressive brushing, one of our experienced professional team members will show you the correct and more effective manner in which to practice oral hygiene.

Dr. Malek will perform a procedure called gum grafting to repair this problem and prevent further recession.
